Thank You For Visiting

Welcome everyone, my name is Dan.

Let me welcome you to my website Hone Body Mind.com. If I could serve you a cup of tea over the internet I surely would hand you a cup right now.

I am also happily married to my best friend in life and love, we met in High School. At the time of writing this, I am in my mid-forties and currently deep in improving cognition and health. Been diagnosed with Polycystic kidney disease, a genetic disease that I am fluctuating between stage 1 and stage 2 currently. This hasn’t stopped me from doing anything. I have also struggled with many things in life, weight, gambling, being in my own head.

HoneBodyMind.com is born out of my love of a lot of various interests. I have never just been focused or been myopic on just one subject, it’s been quite varied. I have found so many interests in life that I felt a pulling towards. Traveling down paths, exploring, learning trying on different hats, so to say. Some of the subjects that have swallowed me are studying, tracking, playing guitar, listening to music, nature, meditation, baseball, martial arts, gardening, health, traditional archery, knife sharpening, self-improvement, and spirituality.

I love diving deep when this happens and getting totally immersed in whatever subject strikes my soul’s chord. Now, since I am older I recognized when I am about to head down a path of enlightenment and I stop and recognize this and say to myself, “oh boy, here we go again“. My hobbies just continue to grow as I bounce from here to there.

I love improving myself, no matter how small or grand. This is why I created HoneBodyMind. Honing is the final step in sharpening a blade, but in this case, it is referring to our-self, our body, and mind. Our outer shell that interacts with the world. Improving this leads to accessing understanding our true self which leads to happiness.

The symbol of Hone Body Mind is called a tsuba. It is the handguard on Japanese swords. It offers a form of protection. This is represented by the Body and the mind as the sword (often considered the soul) that is usually in the middle is unseen, like in life. I’ve been captivated by the different forms and designs of tsuba, simple or complex, I thought it fit what I hope to offer on my site.

I hope to in the end to help people better themselves, this is my ultimate goal by sharing my experiences and recommendations.

Life is a do it yourself project. Do what you love. Follow that little voice from within. Improve yourself & love yourself!!!
