Enduring Ideas For Gifts

Well, we all at one time or another, struggle to think of a gift to give a particular person. We rack our brains then go searching online, often stumbling upon cheap gizmos with little value or purpose. Like fidget spinners…
These cheap gizmos are of little value, after all, we want to give an amazing gift, that will stand the use of time and not be absolute in a few years. A gift that will be used for 10 or 20 years, maybe more. That will be practical and reliable years down the road. A gift, that will remind them of the person that gave them the gift for many, many years to come.
So right away, anything technology is thrown right the window. Sorry, but if you want the latest gadgets there are plenty of lists for this already and this is not what this post is about.
This post is about gifts that will survive the years both in function and practicality for a young man. Growing with him, being there when need and always dependable.

Classic Traditional Gifts
Dopp Kit
This is my first recommendation because this is what comes first to my mind when I think of a “traditional gift“. It’s really classy and a must for any gentleman.
Most people are not familiar with the word Dopp kit but it is also more commonly called other names such as a travel kit or toiletry bag. These bags are usually used to hold body hygiene and toiletry supplies. You know like: toothbrushes, cologne, hairbrushes, combs, dental floss, deodorant, clippers, soap, shaving supplies, and many other items while traveling.
This makes a fabulous gift! As every man travels, whether it’s across the world or an overnight stay at a friend’s house. This gift is so practical it’s essential. A Dopp kit allows you to properly store your hygiene items away safely and neatly within your luggage. It makes packing and traveling so much more enjoyable.
I really like the leather Dopp kits but some of the canvas Dopp kits are also exceptional as well. The leather Dopp kits just add a level of quality and coolness and make a very impressive gift to give.
You could even add supplies to it like some high-end hair products (check out my article on Lockhart’s Authentic review), boar bristle brush, quality tweezer set, etc., etc.

This also has two strong easy-glide zippers to provide long life and usage.
RusticTown Handmade Buffalo Genuine Leather Toiletry Bag Dopp Kit Shaving and Grooming Kit for Travel
Another two-compartment design but with buffalo leather and a little more quality. This can be used by men and women, which is nice. This has a great look along with a spacious interior for plenty of storage. The material is thick but also flexible and strong and makes a solid choice.
Has a waterproof lining as well for ease of mind and controlling any spills or leakage. Super quality zippers, as these are YKK zippers and should last for decades. I also love the brass grommets located on the bottom to protect it from wearing out.
Another solid choice for a Dopp kit.

What better gift to give a young man to help him progress through life and giving him a leg up with daily knowledge most young men are unaware of. A great book to pass to them when they come of age. This book is packed with knowledge any man should know and makes a good read as well.
Available both in paperback and kindle, but I would recommend the paperback for ease of gifting.
101 Secrets For Your Twenties
Another book aimed specifically at helping people out in their young adulthood. We all remember what it was like full of fun but also a real-time of learning about grown-up stuff. This book has, just as the title says 101 secrets to help young adults through these times. Might I add, it is also pretty funny and well written, so whoever you gift this to will get some enjoyment out of it, as well as learning?
I wish I had this book, as I was confused and with today’s technology, it can even be more so. There is also information on traversing today’s hyper-connected confusing world. Once it is read it can be used for a reference to look over and over to gain insight.
Cookware
Cast Iron Cookware
I strayed for years, probably more like decades using non-stick pans. But you know what? Not anymore…I made the switch back because of the health benefits and the ease of use. These also last a lifetime too and Lodge has been around for a really long time and it’s still made in the USA. You know when you give this as a gift it will not flake like a non-stick pan does and have to be thrown out.
They have many different sets from which to choose too. A two-piece skillet set all the way up to a seven-piece set. Any young man’s appreciation for this gift would grow over the many reliable years of using this gift.
A real solid gift.
Shoes
Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Hi-Top Sneaker
These shoes also are called Chucks or Chuck Taylors. A classic looking sneaker that has survived since 1908. Now with options and more colors to choose from Solid black to classic red and many colors in between.
Nothing beats Chucks for versatility or longevity.
I really like all black and charcoal colors and go with just about anything you wear. Plus they are comfortable as well, they don’t look like they would be but they are. They are a universal shoe for everyone in just about every situation. For today these sneakers won’t set you back either, far less than the overprice Air Jordans.
Shaving

Cologne
Now picking a cologne is a pretty personal thing to do for someone else. Right? It’s too hard to determine if someone will like the smell or not because it’s highly per.
